About DirectGrowth

Your Investment Journey Should Not Require Ten Different Apps

A research-first mutual fund discovery, analytics, and portfolio-intelligence platform for India.

Most people do not begin their investment journey with a finance degree, a research team, or years of market experience.

They begin with their first salary, a few financial goals, and a simple question:

Where do I start?

What follows is rarely simple.

One application helps calculate an SIP. Another lists mutual funds. A third provides portfolio data. A fourth explains taxes. A fifth compares returns. A sixth tracks family investments. Important information is scattered across factsheets, financial websites, broker applications, spreadsheets, screenshots, and conversations with friends or advisers.

The investor is left to connect everything.

DirectGrowth was created to change that experience.

We did not set out to build another mutual fund comparison website. We set out to build an intelligence layer over India’s mutual fund universe, one that brings planning, discovery, research, portfolio analysis, goal tracking, and family-level visibility into one seamless and transparent platform.

Make mutual fund research easier to begin, deeper when required, and clearer at every stage of the investor’s journey.

Built by People Who Understand Finance, Data, and Technology

DirectGrowth is being built by a multidisciplinary team of financial-market professionals, data architects, and software developers.

Our collective experience spans areas such as:

  • Financial markets and mutual fund investing
  • Product control, portfolio analytics, and risk reporting
  • Financial-data management and regulatory reporting
  • Compliance-aware product development
  • Front-end and back-end engineering
  • Transaction-based and subscription-based platforms
  • Recurring data pipelines and analytical workflows
  • Financial calculations and analytical tools
  • Privacy, security, and platform controls

Our team brings practical experience across these disciplines. We continue to learn, test, and strengthen the platform as DirectGrowth grows.

We have worked with financial information not merely as website content, but as data that must be sourced correctly, mapped consistently, reconciled carefully, calculated transparently, and presented in a way that people can actually understand.

That combination of finance, data, and technology shapes everything we build.

We Are Not Building Another Fund List

India does not need another website that shows one-year returns, expense ratios, and star ratings in a table.

That information is already available.

The harder problem is helping an investor understand:

  • Where to begin
  • Which information matters
  • How different funds compare
  • Why a fund received a particular analytical score
  • Whether two funds are doing almost the same job
  • How a new fund may affect an existing portfolio
  • Whether a portfolio has become concentrated
  • Whether the investor is still moving toward a financial goal
  • What information should be discussed with a qualified financial adviser

DirectGrowth connects these questions into one research journey.

Begin With a Guided Investment Plan

For someone starting their investment journey, even the first step can feel unnecessarily complicated.

Our SIP and Investment Planner simplifies that starting point through five guided steps.

A user can provide relevant assumptions, select personal preferences, indicate a self-assessed risk orientation, and describe the investment behaviour they believe they can sustain.

The platform then produces a structured, data-driven planning output from the assumptions selected by the user.

This output is not an instruction to purchase a particular security. It is a research and scenario-planning document that the user may:

  • Review independently
  • Discuss with a SEBI-registered investment adviser
  • Share with a trusted financial planner
  • Discuss with family members
  • Export a suitably redacted copy for independent review

The objective is not to take control away from the investor.

The objective is to ensure that the investor reaches a professional conversation with better questions, clearer assumptions, and an organized view of the available information.

Explore the Mutual Fund Universe in One Place

Once a user understands the broad direction of their investment journey, they can move to Mutual Fund Discovery.

Our discovery platform brings funds with validated reference data into one research experience.

Users can explore and filter schemes using information such as:

  • Historical returns
  • Risk measures
  • Drawdowns
  • Category-relative performance
  • Expense information
  • Asset size
  • Portfolio composition
  • Sector exposure
  • Market-cap allocation
  • Fund manager information
  • Benchmark information
  • Other relevant fund characteristics

Selecting a fund opens a detailed research view containing the information required to understand the scheme more deeply.

The purpose is not to overwhelm users with numbers. It is to allow each investor to choose the depth of research that suits them.

A new investor may begin with a few essential indicators. An experienced investor, analyst, adviser, or financial professional may go considerably deeper.

Vriddhi Score: An Explainable Research View

Vriddhi Score is a proprietary DirectGrowth research tool. It is developed and maintained internally.

A score without an explanation does not create trust.

It shows factor-level context, data dates, and limitations where available. Its detailed calculation implementation remains proprietary.

The score is generated through data-intensive, category-aware calculations performed on our cloud infrastructure. Depending on the applicable fund type and available data, the analytical framework may examine factors connected with returns, consistency, downside behaviour, risk, drawdowns, portfolio characteristics, and category-relative evidence.

The underlying objective is not to declare a fund universally good or bad. It is to present a structured research signal and explain what is driving it.

  • Is an analytical research output
  • Is not a guarantee of future performance
  • Is not a buy, sell, or switch instruction
  • Does not replace suitability assessment
  • Should be considered with the investor’s complete portfolio, objectives, and risk capacity

As the methodology evolves, our aim is to continue expanding component-level explanations, source visibility, eligibility rules, limitations, and change governance.

Build a Wishlist, Then Diagnose It

Research rarely ends after opening one fund. Users usually identify several schemes, compare them, revisit them, and narrow down the list over time.

The DirectGrowth Wishlist is therefore not designed as a simple bookmarking page. It is a research workspace.

A user can add funds under consideration and use the analytical tools available on the Wishlist page to understand:

  • How the shortlisted funds compare
  • Which funds appear stronger on selected data parameters
  • Where funds overlap
  • How their risk and return characteristics differ
  • Whether multiple funds may be serving a similar purpose
  • Which schemes may require deeper investigation
  • What alternatives exist within the relevant category

This turns the Wishlist into a diagnostic layer between discovery and decision-making. DirectGrowth does not push the user to transact. It gives the user visibility, context, and control.

The user may take the resulting information to a registered investment adviser, financial planner, or another trusted reviewer before making an independent decision.

Your Portfolio Is More Important Than Any One Fund

A fund cannot be evaluated properly in isolation from the portfolio that already exists.

A scheme that appears attractive independently may create duplication, excessive sector exposure, or an unintended risk concentration when added to an existing portfolio.

That is why the Portfolio page is one of the most important parts of DirectGrowth.

Shift the question from “Is this a good mutual fund?” to “What does this mutual fund mean for my complete portfolio?”

Import Holdings From a Screenshot

Many investors hold mutual funds across different brokers, investment applications, and AMC platforms.

Manually entering each scheme, unit balance, average NAV, and invested amount is time-consuming. It also creates opportunities for data-entry errors.

Portfolio Import is a proprietary DirectGrowth tool. It is developed and maintained internally. A user can upload a supported screenshot. The tool then attempts to:

  1. Identify the scheme name shown in the screenshot.
  2. Match it with the correct canonical mutual fund scheme.
  3. Map it to the appropriate AMFI identity or scheme code.
  4. Retrieve the latest officially available NAV.
  5. Extract or derive the number of units where sufficient information is visible.
  6. Identify the average NAV where the source contains the required data.
  7. Calculate or reconstruct the invested amount where the available figures permit it.
  8. Present the reconciled holding for user review before it is saved to the selected portfolio account.

Where multiple screenshots contain the same scheme, the system can identify potential duplication and assist with consolidation.

Because screenshots may vary in layout, quality, and completeness, imported values should always remain visible for user verification before they are treated as final.

The importer is not simply an image-to-text utility. It combines extraction, financial-data mapping, scheme-identity resolution, and portfolio calculations to transform an unstructured screenshot into a usable portfolio record.

One View for the Entire Family

Investments do not always sit in one application or under one person.

A user may invest through three different platforms. Their spouse may use another broker. Their parents may hold older mutual fund folios directly with AMCs.

DirectGrowth allows users to create and manage multiple portfolio accounts, subject to appropriate authority and consent.

  • The user’s own portfolio
  • A spouse’s portfolio
  • Parents’ portfolios
  • Other family portfolios the user is authorized to manage

Each account can remain separately identifiable while also contributing to a consolidated family view.

The result is a platform-independent portfolio experience. It does not matter whether the underlying investments were made through one broker, several applications, or directly with different asset management companies. DirectGrowth is designed to bring the information together for analysis and tracking.

This family-level visibility helps users understand not only individual holdings, but also the household’s broader allocation, duplication, and concentration.

AI Summary: A Plain-Language Portfolio Research Tool

A portfolio dashboard can display dozens of charts and calculations. That still leaves an important question unanswered: What does all of this mean?

AI Summary is a proprietary DirectGrowth tool. It is developed and maintained internally. It explains the available portfolio data in clear language.

It acts as a portfolio-explanation layer. It examines the user’s available holdings data and surfaces observations that may include:

  • Duplication across funds
  • Concentration risk
  • Under-diversification
  • Over-diversification
  • Funds with materially similar exposures
  • Unnecessary complexity
  • Sector concentration
  • Market-cap concentration
  • Category concentration
  • AMC concentration
  • Style drift
  • Thematic exposure
  • Risk and return positioning
  • Potential mismatch between portfolio structure and selected preferences
  • Areas that may deserve review

AI Summary explains the portfolio. It does not manage it. It uses available calculations, validated data, and defined internal analytical rules.

The output can be copied or exported for discussion with a registered investment adviser, a qualified financial planner, or another trusted reviewer.

DirectGrowth does not treat a plain-language summary as a substitute for accountable financial advice.

FastTrack: Turn a Financial Goal Into a Visible Path

Investing becomes more meaningful when it is connected with a goal.

FastTrack allows a user to build a goal using their current portfolio, existing SIPs, expected contributions, time horizon, and selected planning assumptions.

A user can define a target such as a home, education, retirement, financial independence, a major family milestone, or any other long-term objective.

The goal can also be converted into an inflation-adjusted target, helping the user understand the difference between a future nominal amount and its expected purchasing power.

After completing the guided journey, the user receives visibility into the target amount, intended timeline, existing portfolio contribution, current SIP contribution, estimated gap, contribution required under selected assumptions, discipline required to remain on track, and effect of changing assumptions.

The goal remains visible within the user’s profile, creating a consistent reminder of what the portfolio is meant to achieve.

FastTrack is not intended to promise an outcome. Markets do not move in a straight line, and no planning assumption can guarantee a future corpus.

Its purpose is to turn a distant goal into a measurable path that the user can monitor and discuss.

Go as Deep as Your Research Requires

Every investor does not require the same depth of analysis. DirectGrowth therefore includes deeper analytical tools such as:

Fund Snapshot

A detailed research view of an individual scheme, including performance, costs, portfolio composition, sectors, major holdings, and disclosed portfolio changes.

Fund Comparison

A side-by-side comparison that goes beyond headline returns and helps users examine costs, holdings, overlap, performance characteristics, and portfolio changes.

Theme Analyzer

Select a market theme and study which funds and stocks form the exposure, and which positions were added, reduced, entered, or exited across disclosure periods.

Market Analytics

Study sectors, ownership changes, and disclosed mutual fund activity to understand where capital appears to be moving within the available data.

DirectGrowth does not force complexity on every visitor. It makes deeper research available when the user needs it.

Tax-Aware Portfolio Tracking (In Development)

Tax calculations are often separated from portfolio tracking, even though every redemption or reduction in holdings can have a tax consequence.

DirectGrowth is building an in-house tax-aware tracking layer that can place relevant disposals into a tax-planning pipeline when a holding is reduced or exited. This is not available yet.

Subject to the quality and completeness of the transaction data available, the system is being designed to help track:

  • Units disposed of
  • Acquisition information
  • Holding periods
  • Realized gains
  • Realized losses
  • Potential long-term gain-harvesting opportunities
  • Potential loss-offset opportunities
  • Estimated tax-relevant events

This is more accurately described as tax-aware gain and loss tracking, rather than only tax-loss harvesting.

Tax laws, classifications, and individual circumstances can change the final outcome. DirectGrowth does not provide tax advice, and users should validate material tax decisions with a qualified tax professional.

Our objective is to ensure that a portfolio transaction does not disappear from the user’s financial view simply because it has already been completed.

Data Freshness Is Not a Footnote

Financial analytics are only as reliable as the data beneath them. That is why data freshness, identity mapping, validation, and provenance are fundamental parts of DirectGrowth.

Our internally maintained data pipelines are designed to perform recurring checks across the platform’s applicable mutual fund universe.

For funds investing in Indian equities, NAVs that are published and disclosed by 11:00 p.m. are ingested as soon as the latest validated data refresh becomes available. For overseas equity funds and other schemes that follow different publication cycles, DirectGrowth follows the applicable guidelines and respective timelines. The latest available data is then propagated through the relevant platform views and portfolio calculations after validation.

For portfolio holdings, factsheets, manager information, benchmarks, sector data, and other scheme disclosures, we update information after new official disclosures become available and pass our validation checks.

Our reference data is assembled from attributable official and public disclosures rather than copied from another consumer finance application.

Our source framework is based on authentic and official disclosures, which may include:

  • AMFI data
  • Asset management company factsheets
  • Scheme documents
  • Official portfolio disclosures
  • Regulatory disclosures
  • Publicly issued AMC communications
  • Other authorized and attributable sources

The information then passes through DirectGrowth’s own ingestion, mapping, normalization, reconciliation, and calculation pipelines.

Where relevant, users should be able to see the applicable data date, source context, and limitations.

We believe trust is created not by claiming that errors are impossible, but by building systems that detect exceptions, reconcile inconsistencies, expose freshness, and correct problems responsibly.

Privacy Must Be Designed Into the Product

A portfolio contains deeply personal financial information. Privacy cannot be treated as a footer statement added after the product has been built.

DirectGrowth is designed around authenticated account-level access, purpose-limited processing, and user control.

Portfolio information is handled through account-scoped, managed data services. It supports features requested by the user. It is not designed to be public.

Portfolio Import, Vriddhi Score, and AI Summary are proprietary DirectGrowth tools. They are developed and maintained internally.

Users should retain control over what they upload, which portfolio account the information belongs to, which family accounts they are authorized to maintain, what they choose to export, whom they choose to share it with, and whether imported information is retained or removed.

We do not ask users to hand over their broker passwords or share OTPs with DirectGrowth.

Information is transmitted over encrypted connections. Authenticated account checks and database-level policies help control access. We continue to improve security as the product grows.

Built on Financial Data, Research Workflows, and Internal Tools

DirectGrowth uses official disclosures, historical datasets, proprietary calculations, and defined research workflows.

Vriddhi Score, Portfolio Import, and AI Summary are proprietary DirectGrowth tools. They are developed and maintained internally.

Official disclosures, defined calculations, and validation controls support NAVs, holdings, scheme identity, and portfolio calculations.

DirectGrowth is still growing. We test, review, and improve the product continuously while keeping the final investment decision with the user.

Descriptive by Design, Not Prescriptive

We are a descriptive research and analytics platform, not a prescriptive investment-advisory service.

At present, DirectGrowth:

  • Does not provide personalized investment advice
  • Does not provide regulated financial-planning services
  • Does not issue individual buy, sell, switch, or redemption instructions
  • Does not guarantee returns
  • Does not assure that a fund will outperform
  • Does not execute mutual fund transactions
  • Does not push users into making an investment decision
  • Does not replace a SEBI-registered investment adviser

Our scores, rankings, summaries, planners, and portfolio tools are designed to organize and explain data.

The user remains free to conduct further research, discuss the output with a registered investment adviser, consult a financial planner, seek a second professional opinion, review assumptions with family, and make an independent decision.

Our current objective is mutual fund transaction capability by 30 June 2027. This depends on approvals, partners, testing, security reviews, and user-protection controls.

Until those requirements are complete, DirectGrowth remains a research-first platform without an execution mechanism.

Our current focus is the mutual fund journey. We are not building a direct-equity trading or equity-derivatives platform.

Our ambition is to make the mutual fund experience increasingly complete, from planning and discovery to portfolio intelligence, monitoring, and, subject to approvals, eventual execution.

Talk to the team

India has a large and diverse ecosystem of registered investment advisers, financial planners, mutual fund distributors, wealth-management businesses, financial institutions, fintech applications, and research and content platforms.

We are developing dashboards, portfolio analytics, reports, research interfaces, data APIs, and SaaS tools for eligible professionals. Availability depends on agreed scope and readiness.

Our current commercial model is built around retail subscriptions + business SaaS fees + API fees.

Built for a Relationship, Not a One-Time Search

People do not need to compare mutual funds every hour. A responsible mutual fund platform should not manufacture anxiety or encourage unnecessary activity merely to increase daily engagement.

Users may return weekly to review family portfolios, when a characteristic changes, when discussing rebalancing, when planning investments, evaluating a fund, reviewing a goal, comparing alternatives, or when new factsheet information becomes available.

Our goal is not to make users transact more frequently. Our goal is to make each research and review cycle more informed.

As the product develops, recurring portfolio research summaries, fund-change alerts, goal-progress monitoring, style-drift indicators, and other relevant triggers can make DirectGrowth an ongoing financial-monitoring system rather than a website visited once before an SIP.

What We Are Ultimately Building

We are building a platform for the person receiving their first salary, the experienced investor who wants to go beyond headline returns, the family trying to understand investments spread across several applications, and the adviser who wants to explain a portfolio professionally.

Our objective is not to predict every market movement. It is to make risk more visible, data easier to understand, and long-term wealth-building more organized.

We believe that ease of use and depth of analysis should not be opposites. We believe transparency should be visible inside the product, not hidden in legal text. We believe technology should increase an investor’s understanding, not quietly take away their agency.

And we believe that a person should not need to navigate ten different applications to understand what their money is doing.

That is why we built DirectGrowth.
